Itinerary: Week 1
Day 1
We arrive at the airport Charles de Gaulle at 4 p.m. We take a cab to our apartment, "12 Apartment," as it is unceremoniously dubbed, located on Rue Chaligny. Our apartment is quite charming and is ideal for three people. We have many amenities, including the ever-so necessary appliance that is the toaster. Gabby insisted that our apartment has a toaster.
Dinner: 7:00 p.m. at Aux Trois Elephants, 36 rue Tiquetonne 2e

Dishes to try: yum plameuk (squid salad) and homok pla (steamed fish served in a banana leaf)
After dinner, we stroll through Paris until 10 p.m. What splendor! Ah! Oh! We have all of France to explore in just two weeks!
We return to our apartment. Note that the toaster has not been used yet.

Day 2
We wake up at 8 for some light conversation. We plan our day.
Breakfast: 9:30 a.m. at Eric Kayser Boulangerie, 8 rue Monge 5e

After a delightful breakfast, at 11 a.m., we take the Metro to the Sacred Heart Basilica of Montmartre (Sacre-Coeur). It has one of the most breathtaking views in Paris.
Lunch: 1:30 p.m. at Pink Flamingo, 67 rue Bichat 10e

Dishes to try: duck, apple, and chevre (goat cheese) pizza and fig, gorgonzola, and cured ham
At 3:30 p.m., we walk to Place du Tertre, a square full of zealous young artists that mainly paint portraits of tourists. An hour later, we go to Musee de la Vie Romantique, or Museum of the Romantics, which houses many pieces from the Romanticism movement.
Dinner: 6:00 p.m. at A la Cloche d'Or, 3 rue Mansart 9e

After breakfast, we go to the Espace Dali, a museum devoted to Salvador Dali ($43 for tickets).

Dishes to try: soups, salads, plates of charcuterie (meat on a plate), bagels with more then a dozen fillings
We are becoming quite the connoisseurs of French cuisine.
We return to the apartment because we are tired, but first we pick up some ingredients for dinner at a local grocery store.
For dinner, we make ratatouille, and it tastes fairly good.
Dessert: 7:30 p.m. at Berthillon, 31 rue St Louis en I'ile 4e

Dishes to try: pain aux raisins (raisin bread), millefeuille (pastry layered with cream), tarte au citron (lemon tart) and opéra (coffee-flavoured almond cake and chocolate).
Lunch: 12:30 at Pho 67 Restaurant Vietnam, 59 rue Galande 5e

Dishes to try: fried boned eel, crusty lacquered duck, rare goat with ginger, sweetened pork and North Vietnamese soup
Dinner: 5:00 at Huiterie Régis, a seafood restaurant
After dinner, we go to the supermarket and buy food to make for ourselves for the next few days because we are spending an exorbitant amount of money by eating at lavish restaurants.
We go to bed at 9 p.m.

Day 6
We wake up at 7 a.m. to go for a brisk jog through Paris, saying "Bonjour !" to the early bird locals. We return to the apartment at 8:00 to make pancakes with blueberries and perhaps even some raspberries.
At 9:00, we visit the Louvre. We see the Pyramid, the Mona Lisa, and the Venus de Milo.
At 12, we return to our apartment to cook some lunch. We make paninis, because the apartment came with a panini press.
We stay at the apartment for the rest of the day until dinner.
Dinner: 5:30 p.m. at Bistro Des Dames, 18 rue des Dames 17e

Day 7
Breakfast: 8:30, at the apartment, french cereal with french milk from the local french cow
After breakfast, we go to the Arènes de Lutèce, an ancient amphitheatre from ancient Roman times.
Lunch: 12:30 at Les Dix Vins, 57 rue Falguière 15e

After lunch, we go to the Parc de la Villette, one of the largest parks in Paris that houses the largest science museum in Europe, and a museum of historical musical instruments.
